MEN’S TENNIS

The Forester men’s tennis team spent their Saturday at Klopfenstein Courts where they swept Saint Francis 7-0 before losing a nail-bitter to Indiana Tech 4-3. With this split, HU moves to 2-4 on the year, 2-2 in league play.

Against the Cougars (0-5, 0-4) in the morning, Eckert’s crew made quick work of their visitors, especially in singles action where they won in straight sets and only gave up 15 total games. HU was the third team to blank USF this season.

This afternoon HU stepped back on the courts to host Tech and unlike the morning, the matches were drawn out as nearly every spot was a battle to the bitter end. When all was said and done, the Foresters won the point in doubles but the Warriors (3-0) got the nod in singles action to slip past HU.

HU is back in action on Tuesday when they host Mount Vernon on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
