MEN’S TENNIS
Senior Ignacio Poncio and sophomore Illia Turaba were two of 15 men’s tennis players tagged All-Conference as announced by the Crossroads League office earlier this afternoon.
For Poncio, it marks his fourth All-Conference award in as many years. He is just the fifth player in program history to receive an all-conference badge all four years in a Forester uniform. Playing at HU’s No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles, the Argentina native logged a 7-2 record in Crossroads League singles action and that same record in doubles action to guide the Foresters to a fourth place finish in the conference standings. His overall record this fall was 11-5 in both singles and doubles.
As Huntington’s No. 2 player, Turaba was 5-3 in singles play against his league foes while racking up a 7-2 record at the #2 spot in doubles action. The Ukraine native finished the fall with an overall 11-5 singles record and a 10-5 doubles record.
HU wrapped up the fall season with an overall record of 8-5 and a conference record of 6-3.
