WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Maggie Hollon is starting her sophomore season with a bang. After putting together a monster weekend at the Onset Tournament, the HU outside hitter has been named the Crossroads League Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, the league announced earlier today.
Hollon, a 5-10 Warsaw, Ind., native, was a force from start to finish, recording at least 16 kills in each of Huntington’s four outings. She averaged 5.5 kills per set for the week while hitting .301, consistently giving the Foresters a go-to option on the attack.
Her weekend featured a 20-kill performance against No. 17 Aquinas before she saved her biggest offensive showing for the finale. Hollon erupted for 26 kills against Ohio Christian, finishing with a .393 attack percentage to help the Foresters secure a 3-1 victory.
For her efforts, Hollon collected the first Crossroads League weekly honor of her young career.
Hollon and the Foresters now turn their attention to league play. Huntington opens its Crossroads League schedule Wednesday at Mount Vernon.
