WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

After putting together a dominant weekend at the Onset Tournament, Huntington University outside hitter Maggie Hollon has been named the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, following her selection as the Crossroads League Attacker of the Week earlier this week.

Hollon, a 5-10 Warsaw, Ind. native, was the key cog offensively for HU from start to finish, recording at least 16 kills in each of Huntington’s four outings. She finished the weekend with a staggering 72 kills in 13 sets, averaging 5.5 kills per set while hitting .301.

Her weekend featured a 20-kill performance against No. 17 Aquinas before she saved her biggest offensive showing for the finale. Hollon erupted for 26 kills against Ohio Christian, finishing with a .393 attack percentage to help the Foresters secure a 3-1 victory.

In addition to her offensive explosion, Hollon proved to be a factor all over the court. She added 41 digs, averaging 3.15 digs per set, to her stat line. Over the four-match stretch, Hollon also contributed two service aces and two block assists, totaling 75 points for an average of 5.8 points per set.
