WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Huntington women’s soccer team warded off an offensive-minded Taylor squad through the first half to play to a 0-0 deadlock at intermission before giving up three goals in the final 45 minutes to make for a 3-0 decision at Turner Stadium.

The #RV Trojans peppered 47 shots on the afternoon to HU’s four. While only 15 were on target for the hosts, it still made for a busy day for the Foresters on the defensive end of things. Corner kicks were also lopsided to the tune of 14-0 in favor of TU. Ireland Aerni finished with 12 saves in the losing effort.

With four regular season games remaining, the Foresters (6-6-1) are tied for sixth in the CL standings with a 2-3 record. The Trojans, sitting third in the standings, are 8-1-4 overall which includes a 3-0-2 record in league action.

Huntington returns to King Stadium on Saturday to host Mount Vernon at 1:30 p.m.
