MEN’S SOCCER
Huntington University men’s soccer had two players recognized in the Crossroads League’s postseason awards announcement Wednesday afternoon, with senior defender Kovan Drenth earning First Team All-League honors and junior midfielder Max Nayo receiving Honorable Mention recognition.
Drenth headlines the Foresters’ selections after securing First Team recognition for the second consecutive season. The 6-2 senior from Goshen, Ind., was one of six defenders named to the First Team, capping an impressive four-year career as a fixture in Huntington’s starting lineup.
A four-year starter, Drenth anchored HU’s backline throughout his senior campaign, helping the Foresters record two shutouts while surrendering 26 goals. He also made an impact offensively, finding the back of the net once this season in a particularly memorable moment.
Drenth scored in his hometown of Goshen to secure a 1-0 victory for Huntington, delivering a special homecoming performance.
Joining Drenth in the postseason honors is Nayo, who earned Honorable Mention recognition after putting together an impressive junior campaign.
The 5-5 midfielder from Accra, Ghana, proved to be Huntington’s biggest offensive threat while taking charge of the middle of the park. Nayo’s combination of speed, craftiness and creativity made him a difficult matchup for opposing defenses throughout the season.
Nayo finished the year with a team-high four goals for eight points, providing a consistent spark to the Forester attack while contributing to the team’s overall efforts on both ends of the field.
Huntington wrapped up the 2026 campaign with a 4-9-2 overall record.
