MEN’S TENNIS

The No. 16 Huntington men’s tennis team closed out its time in Tennessee with two wins at the Bethel Invitational. The Foresters defeated #22 Tennessee Southern 5–2 on Wednesday before sweeping the host Bethel Wildcats 5–0 Thursday afternoon.

Against Tennessee Southern, Huntington earned the doubles point behind wins from #1 Julian Tantera/Javier Lopez Real at (6-3) and #2 Pablo Lopez Real/Martin Capdevilla (6-4). Singles victories came at HU’s top four spots – Tantera, Capdevilla, Santiago Sarudiansky and Mateo Batista – while Gaspar Audisio and Daiki Ishii claimed the only two wins for the FireHawks.

HU followed up its convincing Top-25 win with another dominant performance over Bethel, sweeping all three doubles matches before notching four wins in singles action to halt play and secure the 5–0 shutout.

Wednesday’s win over UTS marks the Foresters’ second Top-25 win this week as they improve to 8–2 overall. Huntington returns to action tomorrow when they travel to #7 Cumberlands in Kentucky for a 1:00 p.m. first serve before heading back to campus.
