WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
For the second straight week, Huntington claimed the Crossroads League Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honor, as sophomore Addie Shank earned the distinction following a dominant defensive showing in Arizona. The award was announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
Shank powered No. 20 Huntington to victories over Arizona Christian and Embry-Riddle, averaging 11.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 block per game. The 6-0 forward was a consistent force on both ends of the floor, recording at least 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in each contest.
With the pair of wins, the Foresters enter the new year riding a seven-game winning streak and holding an 11-3 overall record. Huntington returns to action on January 3 with a road matchup at Bethel, tipping off at 1:00 p.m. in Mishawaka.
