The #RV Huntington men’s soccer team opened its 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Siena Heights (0-0-1) Friday afternoon at King Stadium.

When the two sides met a year ago, Coach Nick Potter’s Foresters rolled to a 4-0 win in his first year at the helm. This year’s contest told a different story as both sides battled to a defensive stalemate. The matchup also marked the final chapter in the HU–SHU series with Siena Heights closing its doors this spring. The Foresters wrap up the rivalry with an overall 4-6-2 record against the Saints.

While the first half saw limited opportunities, Huntington turned up the intensity after the break. The Foresters peppered the Saints’ goalkeeper with 17 second-half shots, including a blistering strike from Oneal David that rattled off the post with just six minutes remaining. HU created plenty of late pressure, firing four shots in the final ten minutes but couldn’t find the finishing touch.

For the match, Huntington outshot Siena Heights 27-3 and held a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks, but SHU’s keeper turned away 11 saves to preserve the scoreless draw. HU starting keeper Jorge Gonzalez finished with a pair of saves.

The Foresters (0-0-1) now turn their attention to a midweek road trip as they travel to Lourdes on Wednesday for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
