Spirit of a Forester Scholarship Competition – Opportunity for Faculty & Staff to Volunteer

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We need your help to make this year’s Spirit of a Forester Scholarship Competition on Saturday, February 15, 2025, a memorable success!

Last year, over 68 students competed, and while the event was fantastic, we struggled to meet the demand for interviewers. This year, we’re expecting even more of our brightest admitted students, and we want to ensure they have an exceptional experience – that’s where you come in!

This is more than just an interview. It’s your chance to:

  • Connect with the Future of HU: Share the Forester spirit and play a direct role in helping these students choose Huntington University.
  • Make a Difference: Your participation could be the factor in a student’s decision to join our community.
  • Engage in a Meaningful Experience: Step out of your routine for an exciting day of dynamic conversations and collaboration with colleagues.

Event Details:

  • What: The Spirit of a Forester Scholarship Competition invites top admitted students to compete for scholarships ranging from $16,000 to full tuition through interviews, essays, and “extra credit” activities showcasing their Forester spirit.
  • Who: Each interview room will pair at least one staff and one faculty member for a collaborative and impactful experience.
  • When: Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    You can volunteer for the full event or choose a time slot:

    • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • 9:00-10:30 a.m.
    • 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: Dowden Science Hall – multiple rooms will be used to ensure smooth transitions.
  • How: We’ll provide everything you need: questions, a rubric, and a quick briefing at 9:00 a.m. to get you started.
