Degitz to Return to Huntington North High School Role

Dr. Russ Degitz is returning to his former role as principal of Huntington North High School. Russ was approved by the school board on Monday evening and will assume his new role in January. Russ joined Huntington University in 2019 to become chief operating officer after serving the Huntington County Community School Corporation in multiple roles for almost two decades after he graduated from HU.

Russ wanted to share these words with the campus community: “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served at Huntington University these last five and a half years. HU has shaped me, both personally and professionally, and I feel blessed to forever be part of the Forester family. My hope is to continue representing HU well as an alumnus making a positive impact on the world for Christ.”

“We are grateful for Russ and his service to Huntington University,” stated President Sherilyn Emberton. “He played a significant role in assisting the University during the pandemic. He also was critical to the success of developing our strategic plan, Forever Foresters, and the successful renovation and addition of the athletic complex. We wish him the best as he returns to HNHS as the school principal.”
