The Crossroads League announced that Huntington’s Beth Herrell has been named the 2023-2024 Athletic Trainer of the Year. The award is in its second year of existence for the Crossroads League.
“I am honored to be selected by my colleagues as the Crossroads League Athletic Trainer of the Year,” said Herrell. “I am so fortunate to be able to work alongside so many great ATCs throughout the Crossroad League. I want to thank and recognize my athletic training team, Chris Burton and Quinn Wiley, for all their hard work and dedication in helping to provide excellent care to every person who steps into the Huntington University athletic training room.
“Additionally, I would like to thank all the Huntington University coaches and administration for all their support of the athletic training staff. I want to thank my family for all their love, encouragement and sacrifices for the demands of my career. Lastly, I want to thank Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for the gifts and talents He has given me so that I can serve and positively impact others. I am truly blessed and humbled to receive this award.”
Herrell has served with Huntington Athletics since 2004 and currently leads the Forester Athletic Training Department while primarily working with the HU women’s soccer, men’s basketball and softball programs. Prior to coming to Huntington, Herrell held positions at Orthopedics Northeast, IPFW, Saint Francis and various local high schools.
