MEN’S TENNIS

With the year winding down, the HU men’s tennis team is putting together one of the most prolific seasons in program history. After cracking into the Top 25 earlier this spring, the Foresters have been tabbed #22 in the latest national poll as announced by the NAIA yesterday afternoon.

The latest ranking is the highest spot on record for a Huntington squad since the 1995-96 season when Coach Mark Fairchild and his team were ranked 17th nationally.

“This is a well-deserved recognition for the hard work this amazing group of guys has been putting in this year,” said Coach Ignacio Poncio. “It’s a historic achievement for our program that hopefully marks the beginning of great things coming our way in the near future.”

HU currently holds a 14-5 record. So far this season, the Foresters have knocked off four Top 25 opponents. Next up for Poncio and crew is a trip Olivet Nazarene on Saturday.
