WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The Crossroads League announced its women’s basketball postseason honors earlier today, with three Foresters among the list of the players recognized.
Senior Konnor Gambrell saved her best for last and for her efforts earned Second Team All-Conference praises. The 6-0 center tossed in a team-leading 12.0 points per game. She also paced the Foresters by tracking down 5.6 rebounds per night which included snagging two offensive boards each time. She also swiped a team-leading 1.5 steals per night.
Gambrell is currently ranked 16th among her league peers in scoring and 14th in rebounding.
For the second time in her Forester career, junior Emily Seboe was tabbed one of the top players in the league. As a freshman, the 5-11 forward was one of five freshmen named to the All-Freshmen Team and was an Honorable Mention pick.
After averaging 10.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per night, Seboe was again voted to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team this winter. Revered as one of the best long-range shooters in the league, she dropped in 69 triples to average 2.4 threes per game.
Joining Seboe as an Honorable Mention selection was sophomore Gabi Melby. The UT-Martin transfer splashed onto the scene to earn the respect of the league coaches. She filled the stat sheet regularly by averaging a team-tying 12.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals.
HU finished 10-19 on the year which included a 5-13 record in CL action.
