For the second time this season, the HU women’s track and field program swept the Crossroads League’s weekly indoor honors as announced by the national office earlier today.

Destiny Copeland was voted the Women’s Indoor T/F Field Athlete of the Week by dominating jumps at Indiana Tech’s Warrior Indoor Invitational at the Doug Edgard Indoor Track on Friday. The grad transfer kicked off the meet by winning long jump. Not only was her leap of 5.87 meters a new school record, it is also currently tops in the NAIA.

Copeland went on to win triple jump with a mark of 11.49 meters. She currently ranks #1 in the NAIA based on her 12.43-meter performance at the Strive for Greatness Invitational in December.

Freshman Addy Wiley ruled the middle distance events over the weekend to be name the Women’s Indoor T/F Track Athlete of the Week. The Huntington rookie set a new NAIA record and Huntington record in the 600 meters and then less than 90 minutes later easily won the 800 and 1,000 meters. All three of her times are the fastest in the NAIA this season and A standards.

For Wiley, it’s her second CL indoor weekly honor of the year.

Wiley’s times (converted times) were as follows:
600 meters – 1:29.77 (1:28.69)
800 meters – 2:09.76 (2:08.28)
1,000 meters – 2:51.56 (2:49.71)

Next up for the Foresters is the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic on January 27.
