MEN’S BASKETBALL

The Crossroads League announced its men’s basketball preseason All-Conference picks and among the list was senior Zach Goodline. The HU floor general was one of ten players to earn a spot on the short list as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Goodline (Coloma HS, Coloma, Mich.) littered the stat sheet last winter by averaging a team-leading 18.3 points and 4.5 assists per night. The 6-1 playmaker  also tracked down 3.6 rebounds and snagged 1.3 steals per outing for Alford’s crew.

It’s the second consecutive season Goodline has been recognized by the CL as a preseason All-League honoree. His resume also included earning First Team All-Conference accolades last year as well as being tabbed an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

The Foresters, who went 10-8 in league play in 2021-22 to finish sixth in the standings, are picked to finish fourth in the Crossroads League this year. The preseason favorite is Indiana Wesleyan with Grace and Marian picked to finish second and third respectively.

Alford and crew kick off the season October 24 by hosting Earlham at 7:00 p.m.
