HU Signs Deal with Opendorse
The Huntington University Office of Athletics has announced its recent agreement with NIL company Opendorse.
“With the emergence of the name, image, likeness (NIL) era in college sports, we knew we wanted to be at the forefront in providing our student-athletes an organized approach to finding NIL opportunities that will benefit them,” said HU athletic director Lori Culler.
“Partnering with Opendorse, an NAIA-proposed NIL solution, provides our student-athletes a top-notch platform that combines NIL marketing opportunities with educational tools, compliance reporting and access to experts in the field. It is also helpful for athletic administrators to have everything NIL in one location for all sports. We expect our student-athletes to reap the benefits of this partnership early and often.”
The goal of Opendorse is to help athletes understand, build and monetize their name, image and likeness (NIL) with support from thousands of brands, fans, sponsors, and partners. In addition to ensuring compliance by helping athletes disclose activity details to HU and safeguarding eligibility, Opendorse also offers content suggestions and on-demand access to share photos and videos from games.
Huntington will launch an NIL marketplace to facilitate fans, brands, donors, and sponsors to directly support and maximize NIL success for its student-athletes.
Forester athletes will have the opportunity customize and promote their personal Opendorse profile on their social media channels. Using the Opendorse app, athletes will also be able to review opportunities, receive deals, accept compensation, and disclose NIL activities to HU.
Opendorse is the leading technology provider in the athlete endorsement industry, with more than 80,000 athletes representing over 100 professional and collegiate sports teams.
