WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The HU women’s basketball team’s offense sputtered Wednesday night at the Hutzell Athletic Center to the tune of a 66-41 loss to the Cougars of Saint Francis (9-5, 3-2).
The first half was a battle of defensive wills. Points were hard to come by compliments of stingy defense at both ends of the floor with USF taking a 26-16 advantage into intermission. The Foresters came out of the locker room to score six of the half’s first eight points to close the gap to six at 28-22 within the first three minutes of play.
Unfortunately, things went sideways for Culler and crew after that to which the Cougars took full advantage to blow the game open at 43-26 by quarter’s end. While Huntington had their best offensive output in the fourth quarter, so did their hosts to make for the lopsided affair.
Emily Seboe finished with ten points to lead the Foresters. Sydney Crawford paced Saint Francis with 17 points while Reganne Pate tossed in 11.
HU (2-14, 0-5) hits the road again on Saturday to face #7 Marian at 1:00 p.m. It’s the Foresters’ sixth straight game on the road.
