Sports Update
The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its annual Top 25 Team Honor Roll, and for the 17th time since the program’s inception in 1997, HU was among the list of honorees.
The Foresters finished the year with a team GPA of 3.699 to finish 4th among its NAIA peers. The list also includes just one other Crossroads League team in Taylor University while local rival Indiana Tech topped the list for the third straight year.
“This is just another terrific example of how this group uses their God-given talents and abilities,” said HU head coach Lori Culler. “Whether they’re on the court, in the classroom or in the community, these ladies find a way to make a positive impact. I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.”
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point average (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
