Despite less than ideal weather conditions, Dylan Felger had an elite performance at Indiana Tech’s Warrior Open Saturday afternoon at Warrior Park.

The junior transfer clocked in at 52.79 in the 400 meter hurdles to not only hit the “A” standard which guarantees a trip to the 2021 NAIA Outdoor T&F National Championships, his time  currently stands as the fastest in the nation and is a new HU record.

The Forester men also had a strong showing in several field events. Bradey Gerke (4.20M) and Kyler Bourne (4.05M) finished 3rd and 6th respectively in pole vault. Gerke also placed 7th in javelin with a mark of 42.14M while teammate Seth Parsell (44.30M) took 5th.

Cameron Worsham ran a 14.92 in the 110 meter hurdles good for 3rd place. He also teamed up with Riley Meek, Heath Atkins and Tim LaRue to claim 5th in the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 42.66.

On the women’s side, Aspen Dirr recorded two top ten finishes which included a 2nd place finish in the 1500 meters (4:43.69), the fourth fastest time in Forester history, and a 7th place finish in the 800 meters (2:24.43).

Hannah Wappes ran those same events to take 4th in the 1500 meters (4:52.10) and 10th in the 800 meters (2:26.25). The HU 4×100 meter relay team, consisting of Ingrid Gress, Mia Ostopovich, Siera Weathers and Sydni Ausberry, posted a 5th place finish with a time of 49.39.

The Foresters were well represented in javelin with Brandy Michie leading the way with a heave of 30.30 meters for 5th place while Brea Metz (29.91M) and Aanyah Wright (25.93M) claimed 6th and 9th respectively.

Next up for HU is the Indiana Little State Championships on April 16-17 at Indiana Wesleyan.
