VOLLEYBALL

After a slow start, the HU volleyball team bounced back with two close sets before eventually succumbing to #RV Indiana Tech in three, 25-8, 25-23, 25-23, Saturday afternoon at the Schaefer Center. It marked the Foresters’ last game of the year.

“After a rough start, I am thankful for the way we raised our level of play in sets two and three,” said Coach Herber. “Our goal is to play with a relaxed intensity from start to finish. I told our girls in the final timeout that I do not want them to play it safe.

“Rather, I want them to make the aggressive play in order to win.”

Abby Robinson led a balanced attack with nine kills. Lindsey Ingenito put down six while Tya Bynum and Anna Lewis posted four apiece. Morgan Robrock orchestrated the offense by handing out 24 assists.

Defensively, Sam Gray and Robinson protected the backline by picking up 14 and 11 digs respectively. At the net, four different Foresters collected a solo block to finish with four blocks to Tech’s five.

“I am thankful for the opportunity we’ve had to play this spring,” said Herber. “It plays a role in allowing our younger athletes to gain experience as we continue to work toward laying the foundation for our upcoming fall season.”

HU wraps up 2020-2021 with a 3-19 record.
