National Nutrition Month Event
A virtual learning series for National Nutrition Month is scheduled to begin in March. The program will be live via Zoom link on Wednesdays. The dates are set for March 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 9:30 a.m.
March 3 – Improving Health with Mindful Eating – in a world where we are always on the go and connected to a screen, it can be hard to think about the food we eat and how it makes us feel. Mindful eating is a technique often overlooked but important. This session will focus on the importance of mindful eating and will end with an expert leading you on a short mindful exercise.
March 10 – Food & Mood – our mood is regularly impacted by the food we eat: Have you ever felt hangry? Join us for this introduction to understanding how food and mood influence each other and learn ways to make healthy diet choices by avoiding emotional eating.
March 17 – Food Budgeting – what and how we eat can affect our health, wellbeing, and finances. Today’s objective will give you tools that will help you plan healthy meals without breaking the bank.
March 24 – Food Labeling Session – we will discuss the basics of the new food label, different labeling requirements, and how these labels can be useful to consumers.
