Check out this new resource, Know Your Strengths — brought to you by the Friesen Center for Service and Experiential Learning.
Learner: Strives to learn and improve
- Gaining knowledge and skills motivates a student with Learner as a strength. Learning is about the journey.
- As an instructor, help the student with Learner track the learning process to note milestones.
Maximizer: Looks and strives for excellence
- The student with Maximizer observes and strives to use strengths to propel an individual or team toward excellence.
- As an instructor, let the student with Maximizer focus on projects that can move from good to great, rather than having this student “fix” something.
Positivity: Possesses contagious enthusiasm
- Full of drama, humor, and energy, the student with Positivity can point out the positive and make others more productive.
- As an instructor, let the student with Positivity infuse a team with an upbeat attitude that can celebrate successes along the way.
Relator: Builds close relationships
- A student with Relator as a strength enjoys working hard with friends to achieve a mutual goal.
As an instructor, assign projects that permit the student with Relator to create strong bonds that facilitate goal-achievement.
