HU sophomore Emma Wilson and senior Adrien Gentie had spectacular performances at Indiana Tech’s Strive for Greatness Invitational last week to garner Crossroads League Indoor Track Athlete of the Week accolades as announced by the league office earlier today.
In addition to winning every race she ran in, Wilson hit the NAIA A Standard and set a new meet record in every event she toed the line for. The University of Illinois transfer won the 1000M (2:56.27), mile (4:54.35), 3000M (10:14.00) and 5000M (17:33.36). She also ran a leg of the winning 4×800 meter relay team that clocked in with an automatic qualifying time of 9:35.17.
Over the course of the two-day event, Gentie punched his ticket to NAIA Nationals twice. The Frenchman won the 3K in 8:28.41 which proves an A Standard and new Forester program record. His second qualifying event was the 5K where he hit the B Standard with his second-place time of 15:08.20.
The Foresters are off until January 30 when they compete in the Trine Invitational.
