Deliberative: Takes care in decision making

  • A student with Deliberative anticipates risks and considers options to make decisions.
  • As an instructor, permit the Deliberative student time to analyze and make decisions and explain these decisions.

Developer: Cultivates potential in others

  • As a strength, the Developer tries to motivate positive change in others, looking for small but incremental improvements.
  • As an instructor, look to the student with Developer as a strength to encourage others, and find opportunities to learn personally and mark small self-improvements.

Discipline: Relies on routines and structure

  • The student with Discipline develops routines, timelines, and deadlines with an ability to break-down large assignments into smaller tasks.
  • As an instructor, clarify expectations for assignments and avoid surprises that hinder task systematization.

Empathy: Senses feelings in others

  • A student with Empathy as a strength picks up on emotions and anticipate unasked questions.
  • As an instructor, help the student with Empathy facilitate partnerships, and deliberately communicate to clarify any misunderstandings or decisions.
