My Students – Their Strengths
Arranger: Organizes items and resources
- The Arranger enjoys a challenge that requires conceptualizing the way things fit together. This potential to manage also applies to how people might work together as a team.
- As an instructor, provide the Arranger a multifaceted assignment, because this student is capable of handling multiple tasks at one time.
Belief: Holds to certain core values
- A student with Belief as a strength possesses a strong sense of purpose and seeks to live out this purpose, holding fast to values with conviction.
- As an instructor, help the student with Belief connect values with the course or assignment-at-hand.
Command: Takes control of a situation
- The Command strength enables this student to take charge and make decisions. This student is direct with dispassionate honesty.
- As an instructor, give the student with Command the latitude to be assertive, while encouraging the student to gain others’ opinions and input.
Communication: Puts thoughts into words
- A student with Communication as a strength easily puts ideas into words and learns by talking. The student’s expressiveness can emerge in presentations and writing.
- As an instructor, encourage the Communication student to translate course content into key phrases or improve in-class presentations for a group.
