The HU women’s tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a split today at MVNU’s Ramser Tennis Courts. The Foresters kicked off the day with a 6-1 loss to Marian before bouncing back with a 5-2 win over the host Cougars.

Lisa Colling picked up Huntington’s win against the Knights at the No. 3 spot in singles where she took care of business, 6-2, 6-0, against Laura Kuebler.

Ferguson’s crew was quick to regroup by posting their fourth straight win over Mount Vernon. Their win streak dates back to 2017 when MVNU resurrected their program after decades of not competing.

After two wins in doubles action, HU’s other wins were quick and to the point with all four singles wins coming in straight sets.

The Foresters wrap up the fall 4-4 overall and in league play to tie Bethel for fourth in regular season play. Since the Pilots won in head-to-head competition over HU last week, 4-3, they get the No. 4 nod in the final standings.

Huntington will look to avenge this loss in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League tournament on Tuesday at the Knollwood Country Club in Granger.
