WOMEN’S SOCCER
The HU women’s soccer team was on the opposite side of a lopsided 10-1 decision that favored last year’s national runner-up in the Knights of Marian University.
The Knights (3-0, 2-0) built a 4-0 lead by halftime and never let up on the gas to score six more times in the second half. Freshman Carissa Burdick finally broke HU’s silence with 15 minutes to go when she found back netting for her first goal of her young Forester career.
Huntington finished with seven shots on the afternoon, five on target, with Katie Sell and Alex Bryant each tallying two.
Maddy Moan took the loss in frame for Lewis’ crew. The junior keeper tracked down nine saves in the losing effort.
Next up for Huntington (0-2, 0-2) is a home match against Grace on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
