Alpha Chi students garner regional and national academic awards

(Photo: Sommer Rose Vadeboncoeur gives a national academic presentation from home.) Although the Alpha Chi National Convention, scheduled in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for March 19-21 was cancelled, HU student participants submitted talks by video. Every student in the group who submitted academic work for a scholarship this year either won a scholarship or was named as an alternate for a scholarship. Alternate regional scholarship/fellowship winners include Sommer Rose Vadeboncoeur for “Robert Schumann’s Geistervariationen: An Analysis” and Trent Yentes for “The Telegraph and Its Influence on America.” Regional scholarship/fellowship winners include Ellie Lawson for “A Descriptive Study of Auto-Genocide in Ancient Angkor” and Ashley Spirek for “The Eternal Soul: A Comparative Analysis of Incompatible Views.” Finally, Trent Yentes won a national scholarship for “The Charter or Privileges and its Influence on Democracy.” This speaks very well for HU and the academic mentoring that students have received in these various fields of study. Congratulations to these students and their supporting departments!
