In the first two NAIA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, the Forester women have been voted third among their NAIA peers across the country as announced by the USTFCCCA.

It’s one of the highest ranking for a Huntington track and field squad in school history. To date, five Foresters have posted 16 qualifying marks while two relay teams, the 4×800 and the distance medley, have punched their ticket to the big stage.

Senior Aspen Dirr headlines the group having automatically qualified for six individual events which include the 600 meters, 800 meters, 1000 meters, mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters.

Hannah Stoffel and Molly Mitchell have four events to their name. The pair has qualified for the 600 meters, 800 meters and mile while Stoffel’s fourth event is the 3000 meters and Mitchell’s is the 1000 meters.

Mara McFarland hit the B standard in the 600 meters to claim a spot at nationals. She is the fourth Forester this indoor season to qualify for the event. Saige Norris rounds out the list of Huntington qualifiers. She will look to toe the line in the 3000 meters.

The USTFCCCA also released its first “event-squad” team summary of the season which includes the Huntington women ranking No. 1 in the nation in the 600 meters, 800 meters, 1000 meters and mile.

This week’s latest national rating index also has the Forester men slipping into the No. 19 spot. The 2020 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships are slated for March 5-7 in Brookings, S.D.
