MEN’S BASKETBALL
Huntington University men’s basketball coach Ty Platt celebrated a career milestone Tuesday night by notching his 200th win with an 82-68 W over Goshen College.
During his tutelage, Platt’s teams have averaged nearly 18 wins a season, set six new school records and has finished in the top 10 nationally in 28 statistical categories. In addition to enjoying a trip to the NAIA National Tournament and three seasons of at least 20 wins, the Foresters have led the nation in free throw shooting four different seasons under Platt’s leadership.
Five of Coach Platt’s players have earned NAIA All-America honors and on 31 occasions, his players have received All-Conference honors including the Crossroads Player of the Year in Caleb Kennedy and Crossroads Freshman of the Year in Caleb Middlesworth.
With five regular season games remaining, the Foresters are currently 12-13 on the year. Next up for HU is a road trip to #6 Mount Vernon on Saturday.
