The Forester indoor track and field program kicked off 2020 on Saturday by making the short trip to Lutheran Health Fieldhouse to compete in the Fort Wayne Duals hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne.

Avniel Barrow topped the HU men by sprinting his way to a 2nd place finish in the 60 meters in 6.99 and a 4th place finish in the 200 meters by clocking in at 23.38. Noah Bise was the only other Forester to bring home a 2nd place finish by breaking his own long jump record with a mark of 6.79 meters.

Kyler Bourne set a new personal record in pole vault with his 3rd place leap of 4.10 meters which moves him from tenth to eighth in the Huntington record books.

Other point getters for Coach Childs’ crew includes Cameron Worsham in the 60 meter hurdles (5th, 8.69) Peyton Depriest in the 400 meters (8th, 52.84), Seth Parsell in weight throw (8th, 13.07 meters*PR), Luke Fillers in pole vault (7th, 3.80 meters) and the distance medley relay team (4th, 11:30.09).

Indiana Tech topped the men’s field with 168.50 points followed by Wabash (103), Taylor (74), IUPUI (71), Indiana Tech Developmental (54), Purdue Fort Wayne (50.50), HU (40) and Northern Kentucky (30).

Holly Holton collected ten points to pace the Forester women. She took 3rd in the weight throw with a heave of 11.84 meters and claimed 5th in shot put with a mark of 10.02 meters.

Other points came by way of Hannah Galbreath in weight throw (6th, 8.52 meters) and the distance medley relay team that posted a 4th place finish by turning in a time of 13:26.01.

Indiana Tech won the women’s title with 189 points followed by Wright State (80), Northern Kentucky (67), Purdue Fort Wayne (66), Taylor (55), IUPUI (51), HU (18) and Indiana Tech Developmental (12).
