BOWLING
The Forester bowling program spent the weekend competing in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout against many of the top ranked programs from around the country. The tournament format was 6 traditional team games on Saturday and 15 Baker games on a different oil pattern Sunday.
The #11 HU women finished 11th out of 24 teams behind the play of Brianna Fish. The senior bowler had an outstanding weekend to finish with 1,148 pins for a six-game average of 191.3 to land the No. 9 spot individually out of the 190-person field.
On the men’s side, Austin Schultz paced Shockey’s crew with a 196.7 six-game average to guide the Foresters to a 17th place finish out of 31 teams.
“The finish position for both teams did not reflect the big positives that we came away with this weekend,” said Coach Shockey. “Overall, this was our best effort and performance for the year. Our teams have a drive and determination that is impressive by any coach’s standard. It’s going to be an exciting rest of the season.”
