WOMEN’S TENNIS

The HU women’s tennis team wrapped up the CL regular season in convincing fashion with a 5-2 win over Taylor University (7-6, 5-4) Thursday afternoon at Meier Tennis Courts. The outcome was the difference between the fourth and fifth spot in the final Crossroads League regular season standings.

Both squads entered the day tied for fourth with identical 4-3 league records with the winner claiming sole possession of that No. 4 spot with the loser having to settle for No. 5. The two teams will now face each other again in first round action of the Crossroads League Tournament on October 1 at Klopfenstein Courts.

The Foresters have owned the series between these two teams as of late. Since 2015, HU boasts a 5-1 record against the Trojans.

HU (8-4, 6-3) will take a quick break from league play on Saturday with a road match against Valparaiso University at 11:00 a.m.
