WOMEN’S TENNIS

The Huntington women’s tennis team took care of business Tuesday afternoon at Knollwood Country Club by sweeping the Pilots of Bethel University (7-5, 4-4). It marked the fourth time this fall HU has blanked an opponent.

It was a critical Crossroads League matchup as both teams entered the match with identical 4-3 CL records with the fourth spot in the standings up for grabs. The win gives Ferguson’s crew a 7-4 record overall, 5-3 record in league play and a share of the #4 spot with Taylor.

Huntington squares off with TU on Thursday in the last regular season conference match for what will be another high-stakes match as the two squads do battle for sole possession of that four spot. The match is slated for 4:00 p.m. at TU’s Meier Tennis Courts.
