The HU cross country program has garnered national attention as evidenced by the most recent release of the NAIA Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Polls.

The men’s team, behind two-time National Runner of the Week Adrien Gentie, received 439 points to earn the No. 9 spot in the September 19 poll. The Foresters, not ranked to start the season, have won their first three races highlighted by winning the IWU Twilight Invitational on September 6.

Other Crossroads League schools represented in the national rankings include Taylor (12), Indiana Wesleyan (14) and Goshen (17).

On the women’s side, Johnson’s crew started the year receiving votes but climbed to 19th in the latest poll with 241 points. The Foresters are led by junior Hannah Stoffel who has clocked in first in all three races she’s competed in. For her efforts at the Rumble in the Fort, the IU transfer was tabbed the National Runner of the Week last week.

The league is well represented nationally on the women’s side as well as the top 25 includes Taylor (3) and Indiana Wesleyan (8).

Huntington has a break until September 28 when they run in the Loyola Lakefront Classic.
