MEN’S TENNIS

There was a lot riding on Tuesday’s matches in a fight for the fourth spot in the league standings. Four teams entered the afternoon with a 3-3 record in the CL. The HU men’s tennis team and the Goshen College Maple Leafs (6-5, 4-3) were two of those squads and upon going to battle at the GC Tennis Complex today, it was GC who triumphed 5-2.

Goshen now shares a piece of the 4th spot with Taylor while the Foresters drop to 5th along with Spring Arbor.

To say it was competitive tennis is an understatement as every singles match came down to the wire with the scales tipping in favor of GC more often than not.

With this loss, HU drops to 3-6 on the year, 3-4 in league play. Next up is ITA Regionals at Indiana Wesleyan September 19-21.
