WOMEN’S TENNIS
The HU women’s tennis team knocked off #RV University of Northwestern Ohio (0-2) Tuesday afternoon 4-3 at Klopfenstein Courts. Freshman Mackenzie Logan came up big for the Foresters as it was her win at No. 6 singles that sealed the upset.
The day started with Meg Dolde and Morgan Fitzpatrick polishing off Camila Puente and Veronica Rydstrom, 6-4, at the top spot in doubles after which Charlotte Solli and Lanae Singleton logged a critical come-from-behind win at #2 doubles to give Huntington a point heading into singles action.
Singleton and Fitzpatrick upped their team’s point total to three with three-set Ws at #3 and #4 singles respectively before Logan’s 6-4, 6-2 win over Franca Rexeis proved the decisive match for the overall Huntington win.
The Foresters (2-1) are back in action tomorrow to face Grace at 4:00 p.m.
