SOFTBALL

The 7th-seeded HU softball team’s season came to an end Friday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to 6th-seeded Goshen College in an elimination game of the Crossroads League tournament at Marian University.

For the Maple Leafs, they continue to work their way through the consolation bracket where they will face 5th-seeded Saint Francis tomorrow at noon.

While the Foresters drew seven walks and had two hit batsman, HU couldn’t get their bats to cooperate as they managed just one hit on the afternoon. Despite HU’s lack of hitting, they still managed to land ten runners on base, which included having bases loaded in the fifth, but couldn’t translate that into any runs on the board to make for the shutout.

Kennedy Krull was the lone Forester to log a hit, a single up the middle in the sixth.

MacKyndsea Burke took the loss for Huntington. She pitched the first 2.2 innings where she gave up six hits, two runs, only one of which was earned, and a walk while fanning one.

Gower’s crew wraps up the year with an overall record of 17-32.
