WOMEN’S GOLF

After turning in a 384 on day one of the Pilot Invitational hosted by Bethel, the HU women’s golf team fired a 365 on Saturday for a two-day total of 749 good for eighth place.

After starting out 17th overall as an individual, Betsy Schroeder finished 12th out of 51 golfers with a 167 (87-80). Megan Higgins posted a 90 both days to card a 180 to claim HU’s second best score at Blackthorn Golf Club.

Alexandria Maris finished with a 186 (98-99) while Alayna Steely rounded out Huntington’s scoring with a 216 (109-107).

Taylor posted a 641 to win the invite followed by Olivet Nazarene (649), Bethel (663), Spring Arbor (691), Cardinal Stritch (693), Mount Vernon (703), Holy Cross (722) HU (749), Cornerstone (787) and St. Francis (IL) (789).

The Foresters are back at it on Monday to compete in the Ackerman-Allen Shoot Out hosted by Taylor University.
