The awards continue to roll in for Huntington University senior Aspen Dirr who was just named this week’s NAIA Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The Hudson native turned in several phenomenal performances at the Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend. In addition to winning the mile, 3,000-meters and distance medley relay for the Foresters, Dirr hit NAIA A marks and broke the Huntington program and CL meet records in all three races.
Dirr is the first female Forester track and field athlete to earn this prestigious award. She will compete in the 39th annual NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month at Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. Nationals is slated for February 28 – March 2. Over the course of the indoor season, she has qualified for four individual events and one relay.
