CHEER CAMP
After inclement forced the postponement of the original cheer camp on January 19, HU cheer coach Megan Clancy has announced that the new date is Saturday, February 2.
The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Merillat Complex for students ages 5 to 18 years old.
“This clinic will provide youth with the opportunity to learn from collegiate athletes while being introduced to Huntington’s core values: Christ, Service, and Scholarship, along with the NAIA’s Champions of Character,” said Megan Clancy, HU cheerleading coach.
Participants will work with the HU cheerleading squad to learn cheerleading techniques, a cheer, a chant, and a dance. There may be stunting and tumbling, with safety as the main objective. Those who participate will receive a t-shirt and will be invited to cheer at halftime of the HU men’s basketball game later that day at 3:00 p.m.
The cost of attendance is $15. A release form must be filled out prior to the event. Forms can be found in the HU athletic office, located in the Merillat Complex, or by visiting www.huathletics.com/cheer-camp.
