HU Arizona Has Our First Graduate!

HU Arizona is very pleased to announce our first official graduate from our Peoria location. Matthew Torres-Gomez graduated with his HU degree in broadcast media at the end of the fall semester. Matthew (or MTG as he is known around the HU Arizona building) was one of the original 18 “pioneers” who started classes during our first semester in the fall of 2016. He finished his degree in 5 semesters as he brought an A.A. degree from Glendale Community College with him to HUAZ. Matthew has produced national and regional award winning work at HU. He has also tackled paid internships for Major League Baseball during spring training at the Peoria Sport Complex across the street from HUAZ, for the Arizona Diamondback last summer, and for AZ 3TV/CBS 5 in Phoenix this fall which is the largest broadcast news operation in the state. That last internship landed Matthew a full-time job at AZ 3TV after graduation from HU. Matthew will be recognized for his accomplishments and true “pioneer spirit” during the board of trustee activities this week in Peoria.
