Playing some of their best volleyball of the year, the Trojans of Taylor University stretched their win streak to three with a 3-1 decision, 26-28, 25-10, 25-13, 25-19, over Huntington Wednesday night at Odle Arena.
The W avenges a 3-2 loss the Trojans suffered to HU in first round action of CL play as they improve to 14-16 overall, 7-8 in league play. HU’s record now stands at 9-21 on the year, 5-9 in the conference.
The Trojans’ offense hogged the spotlight by racking up 60 kills and a .257 hitting percentage. On the other side of the net, HU tallied 34 kills, behind 11 from Paige Eakright, and managed just a .057 hitting percentage. Lindsay Ingenito and Brandy Michie added eight kills apiece.
Jenna Tacosik handed out 20 dimes to go along with eight digs and two aces. Ariene Butler and Lauren Cresse paced Huntington’s defense with 15 digs and 2.5 blocks respectively.
The Foresters have a week’s break before traveling to Indiana Wesleyan for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Wildcats on October 24.
