MEN’S GOLF
Playing three rounds in less than 48 hours, the Forester men’s golf team turned in a 315 after 18 holes and proceeded to get better as time wore on at the Taylor-hosted Egypt Valley Intercollegiate on October 8-9. HU would go on to fire a 304 and then follow that up with a 307 to finish in a tie for 10th with a 926.
Cale Carr fired a one-under-par 71 in the final round on his way to posting a 225 (77, 77, 71) to claim 18th out of 84 golfers. Logan De Maa had a solid outing by carding a 225 (77, 73, 76) for 21st place.
Zakry Cummings shot a 240 (83, 76, 81) for the 54th spot and Andrew Weisheit wrapped up HU’s scoring with a 243 (78, 86, 79) for 58th place. David Beck posted a 247 (87, 80, 80) playing as an individual.
Taylor won the 54-hole event with a 869 followed by Indiana Wesleyan (890), Spring Arbor (901), Saint Francis (903), Roosevelt (912), Wheaton (915), Grand Rapids CC (919), Aquinas (920), Taylor B (924), HU (926), Grace (926), Madonna (943), Saint Xavier (951), IU South Bend (959), Cornerstone (076) and Bethel (996).
Huntington hits the links again on October 13 to compete in the Mount Vernon Cougar Classic.
