The Crossroads League announced its 2018 softball awards and among the list of honorees is a pair of sophomores in Casey Lehman and Lairen Miller.

For the second straight year, Lehman was deemed a First Team All-Conference pick as one of the league’s top catchers.

The New Palestine native (New Palestine HS) led the team in hitting with her .379 average. She tallied 61 hits on the year, the 7th best in the league, which included 20 for extra bases while driving in 29 runs. Lehman carried a .522 slugging percentage and racked up 84 total base, the.

Lehman currently leads the league in doubles per game (0.36), 6th in hits per game (1.22) and 8th in total bases per game (1.68).

Behind the plate, Lehman committed just three errors on the year for a .983 fielding percentage and threw out 14 base runners and for her efforts also earned a spot on the Gold Glove Team.

Miller, last year’s CL Newcomer of the Year, racked up 14 wins this season. She carried a 2.67 ERA while holding opponents to a .264 batting average. The HU ace pitched 175.1 innings, striking out 68 batters while giving up 185 hits and 22 walks.

The Goshen native (Fairfield HS) tops her league peers in innings pitched per game (6.26) and ranks 2nd in walks allowed per game (0.88).
