Heating & Cooling Information

This is just a quick reminder that there will be some days in fall and spring where the outside temperatures will vary significantly from morning to afternoon and the heating and/or air conditioning systems will have difficulties keeping up with the changes.  This is made more challenging in some areas due to the age and type of HVAC equipment and lack of automatic controls.
 
In these types of weather situations, the Maintenance staff checks conditions on a daily walk through of the buildings each morning and sometimes mid-day and tries to adjust the systems as quickly as the temperatures are changing.  Unfortunately, some rooms will get too hot or too cold before the changes go into effect. I realize that these temperature variations make classroom instruction and office work very difficult at times and we are trying to improve the HVAC systems each year as funds become available.
