MEN’S BASKETBALL

Huntington University freshman wing Keaton Lawson has been named the Crossroads League Men’s Basketball Defender of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.

Lawson earned the honor following a standout performance in his collegiate debut for receiving-votes (RV) Huntington, helping propel the Foresters to a 99–68 season-opening victory over Governors State University at Platt Arena.

The 6-7 Columbus, Indiana native showcased his dynamic two-way presence on the floor, racking up a game-high five steals and pulling down a game-high 11 total rebounds to secure a double-double in his first official outing in Forester green.

In addition to his defensive efforts, Lawson made an immediate impact on offense. He poured in 19 points on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting from the field, while adding two assists in 25 minutes of action.
