🌽Sweet Corn!🌽

We harvested the last of the sweet corn in the HU campus garden this week and have extra to share with you! Grab yours by swinging by the science hall. The corn is located on a cart in the loading dock hallway that leads to the first floor greenhouses. Recommended donation is $5/dozen or $2 for three ears. Cash only. All proceeds go to the Hort Club.

Fair warning: This is late season sweet corn…it’s on the starchy side, so go heavy on the butter, salt, and pepper. And, since we didn’t spray them with pesticides, most cobs are “blessed” with a caterpillar or two in the tip of the ear. Just shake off the caterpillars when husking them and cut off the tip before cooking. Or leave them in for extra protein! 😀 JK, that was a joke. You definitely want to remove those caterpillars before cooking.
