MEN’S TENNIS

The Huntington men’s tennis team continues to make noise on the national stage, boasting impressive representation in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings released on March 26.

As a team, the Foresters check in at No. 6 in the nation among all NAIA programs, reinforcing their position as one of the top squads in the country. The ITA releases bi-monthly spring rankings, highlighting the top 50 teams, top 75 singles players and top 50 doubles pairs — and Huntington made its presence felt across the board.

Leading the charge in singles play is Julian Tantera, who sits at No. 17 nationally. Close behind is Martin Capdevilla at No. 20, while Mateo Batista claims a No. 31 ranking. Santiago Sarudiansky adds to the Foresters’ depth at No. 48, and Pablo Lopez Real gives HU five nationally ranked singles players, checking in at No. 74.

The success carries over into doubles competition where Huntington boasts one of the nation’s elite pairings. Tantera and Javier Lopez Real are ranked No. 3 nationally, placing them among the very best in the NAIA. Pablo Lopez Real and Capdevilla also cracked the rankings, earning the No. 46 spot.

The national recognition doesn’t stop there. In the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the Foresters landed at No. 10 — the highest ranking in program history. Currently sitting at 12-3 on the season, Huntington continues to build momentum with a lineup stacked from top to bottom, positioning itself as a contender both in the league and on the national stage.
